Lynn Haven city commissioners rejected a planning commission rezoning recommendation Tuesday night, virtually killing Bay Haven Charter Academy's plans for a campus at the Industrial Park.
The school had been fighting the city for a zoning change until last week, when the city's planning commission approved the change. The school had been hoping to relocate it's North Bay Haven Academy campus from the old Panama Christian School campus to Industrial Park but city commissioners denied the zoning change, leaving Bay Haven officials considering their options.
"We're going to cooperate with our neighbors and work with them to find resolve that's mutually beneficial for all parties. That's what you do. You try to work together as reasonable people" says Dr. Tim Kitts
Dr. Kitts is hoping he can still strike a deal with the city and open North Bay Haven in the Sallie Mae building sometime in 2012.
