Debary, Fla. (AP) -- Volusia County Sheriff's deputies say a 25-year-old woman left three young children home alone for at least an hour while she went shopping.
A neighbor called police Wednesday after seeing the children in the driveway. Deputies say the children -- ages 6, 4 and 4-months -- were hot from being in the sun, but otherwise uninjured.
Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson Jessica Lynn Fields was charged with three counts of child neglect.
Deputies say Fields instructed the children to stay inside but they came out to look for her.
According to arrest reports, Fields told deputies it was too hot to bring the children. Her relationship to the children was unclear.
Officials described the home as messy with no food or water within reach of the children while they were alone.
