Panama City Beach-- Dogs in our area certainly enjoyed the weather Saturday as they kicked off their Halloween celebrating early in the day.

Special Photo This is National Adopt-a-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week. So many animals are overlooked, especially black dogs, older dogs, and those with special needs. This is Sierra, and she could possibly be deaf, but could be trained with hand commands. She's very shy, but those blue eyes are gorgeous. Like many others, she would love to have a forever home. Sierra's information number is 090810/3768 (G78) at the Henry County Animal Shelter, 527 Hampton St. ( Ga. Hwy. 20/81), McDonough. The shelter is open 9 a.m., to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m., to 1 p.m., Saturday. Call (770) 288-7387 (PETS).

And just because these guys are four-legged doesn’t mean their Halloween costumes are any less colorful. Several dogs and their owners gathered at Pier Park in Panama City Beach Saturday morning for a doggie costume contest.

A hot dog, business man, 50's girl, you name it and they were there. This is the third year the group Bay Family's with Dogs has taken part in Pier Parks boo fest.

"Oh, it just gets the dog owners out having fun with their dogs as you can see over there and it brings people to Pier Park on a beautiful day like today and it shows also how people can enjoy each other and their dogs out in public and have a good time," said Volunteer with Bay Family’s with Dogs, Stephanie Somerset.
