World War II Veteran to Receive French Combat Medal

Updated: 12/08/2011 - Panama City Beach - Pearl Harbor Day is the day our nation remembers the attacks that prompted the US to join World War II. The events of that day, 70 years ago, inspired World War II veteran Joseph Limberg to become an Air Corps cadet. He flew 55 combat missions in Europe. Limberg, who now lives in Panama City Beach, will formally receive a French combat medal this weekend for his heroics.

Panama City Woman Shares Her Story of Being HIV Positive

According to BASIC of Northwest Florida, an organization that offers assistance to HIV positive and AIDS patients, there are approximately 500 people in Bay County dealing with illness. Those are just the reported cases. Experts say many more go unreported, oftentimes because of the stigma associated with the illness.

Bay District Schools Emergency Operations Center Nearly Complete

Updated: 11/22/2011 - Panama City - It's the first of it's kind in Northwest Florida. Engineers are putting the finishing touches on Bay District schools own Emergency Operations Center off 17th Street near the media center. The district's Chief of Security, Mike Jones, asked for the Homeland Security grants that paid for the center almost entirely. Jones gave NewsChannel 7 a tour of the facility. While the system is not completely online yet, it will be very soon.
