Updated: 7:48 PM Panama City - Bay District School officials are trying to make parents aware of major changes to the F-CAT grading system which could affect their child's score and their school's grade. In December the State Board of Education raised F-CAT scores for reaching passing level, making the cut more difficult to achieve. Now the board is set to vote Tuesday on changes to the way schools are graded, which could result in a full letter drop for many schools.

Updated: 2:20 PM Panama City - On Wednesday the Society of American Military Engineers will donate a large check to three Bay County educational institutions. Seventy-four thousand dollars will be given to Haney Technical Center, Gulf Coast State College and Surfside Middle School. Surfside will receive a $24,000 grant for it's Gateway to Technology pre-engineering program which began in 2007. Program administrators say without these grant funds, their materials would be 5 years behind.
