Google looks to make a splash in the mobile phone pool starting today. It's to roll out its version of the phone -- the Nexus One, a unit designed by the company's own engineers.
Google hasn't said much about the device except to confirm that its own workers first got the handsets three weeks ago for a final round of testing. At a news conference today, Google is expected to provide details about the phone, along with how the company feels it should be made and sold. The phone will operate on Google's free Android operating system, which it introduced for mobile phones in late 2007.
