The Bay Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Squad, BADGES, arrested two local men Wednesday night on drug charges involving the illegal use of methadone.
According to police, 62-year-old George W. Perry, of Youngstown, was detained on a traffic stop at C.R. 2301 and Bayhead in Bayou George. Perry was found to be in possession of marijuana and three bottles of liquid methadone. Perry was charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription (x2), and Possession of Narcotic Equipment.
Later that night, BADGES arrested 37-year-old Raymond Olsen, of Panama City. Information had been developed that Olsen was dealing drugs out of a local mechanic shop, where he worked part time.
BADGES officers were able to confirm the information and arrested Olsen.
Olsen was found to be in possession of more than 20 methadone pills. He was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription.
