Bay County Commissioners Warned of Illegal Annexations

Bay County Commissioners have warned Panama City Commissioners against illegal annexations.

Tuesday night, city commissioners rejected a property owner’s request to be annexed. The property in question is located here off Michigan Avenue, north of 23rd Street. The owner wants to be annexed into the city so his property can be rezoned mixed use. City commissioners denied the request, saying the owner’s plans to build townhouses after recent complaints that illegal annexation creates pockets of land that are adjacent to city limits.
