The Bay County Economic Development Alliance today is looking for a new executive director.
The EDA executive committee met for three hours Wednesday before deciding to accept Janet Watermeier’s resignation. Watermeier fired off a letter to the board last month, after Panama City commissioners voted to cut their EDU contribution by $25,000 dollars. She took the move as a personal attack, and says she expected a media backlash, but when the negative coverage did not materialize, Watermeier wrote another letter saying she intended to stay.
Watermeier will remain at the EDA for 4 to 6 months, while the committee search for her replacement.
