Panama City - It's estimated between twenty-two and twenty-three thousand veterans live in Bay County. Recent statistics show one out of every six returning vets have feelings of depression or post traumatic stress. But there is a place for them to go for help, the Bay County Veterans Center in Lynn Haven specializes in counseling services.

Vietnam veteran Allen Colvin says the psychologist and the support group he meets with at the veterans center have helped him tremendously. Colvin says he suffered from post traumatic stress disorder for 35 years before he got the help he needed to deal with the symptoms. He says he now feels far less rage. "I met with Greg Bozeman, the psychologist, my psychologist and he got me into group and it's helped immensely, you know, compared to what it used to be. They just try to help everybody. We have people from World War II in our group, the Korean War, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. It's for all veterans to come. What happens in group stays in group. It's a good thing," said Colvin.

The Bay County Veterans Center is located at 3109 Minnesota Avenue, suite 101. That's off of Highway 77 near Haney Technical Center. The phone number is 522-6102.
