Bay Medical Center’s Board of Trustees has agreed to lease out to Sacred Heart.
Thursday the trustees voted BMC will enter exclusive negotiations with LHP Hospital group and Sacred Heart for a forty year, $155 million dollar lease. That is significantly lower than the $200 million dollar bid submitted by Regional Care Hospital partners this week. The board also voted to protect the employee pension plan, no matter which company takes over the hospital.
As of now, it is not a done deal. Bay County Commissioners will still have say in any lease agreement.
