Bay County Firefighters were on the scene of a fire in Bear Creek Wednesday afternoon.
The wildfire was located east of the railroad tracks and south of Bear Creek but north of South Bear Creek Road along Highway 231. The cause of the fire is uncertain and is still under investigation.
The fire was in the same place as another fire that occurred Tuesday night.
Firefighters were able to get it under control quickly but the heavy smoke caused some concern for traffic in the area.
Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution when visibility is reduced by anything like smoke or fog. The Florida Highway Patrol asks drivers to slow down, use their windshield wipers, and turn on their low-beam headlights.
Florida Forest Service wildland firefighters have been on the scene all day monitoring the fire and also spraying water on portions of the interior of the fire that continue to smolder.
Because there have been two fires in the same spot the week, investigators believe someone might have started both fires on-purpose.
Authorities are currently looking for an arson suspect.
