Car Went Off Highway 331 Bridge

Crews just pulled a car out of the Choctawhachee Bay after a woman drove off the road Wednesday morning.

The photograph shows the Clyde Wells Bridge in Walton County. Both people in the car are okay. They swam out through the windows after the accident. A tow truck pulled the car out of the water.

Investigators are looking into why the driver ended up in the bay.

First, I am really glad everyone was okay. Second, we really need some good journalist around here to report a full story occasionally! It is claimed that she was trying to turn around at a boat ramp. Thank goodness she didn't decide to do it on the middle of the bridge and take out others with her! Honestly, I don't know why people can't drive right and stay in their lane. It is very easy to see the water line no matter where she was or what she was doing.

Every month it seems someone is killed or injured on this bridge. I refuse to travel on 331.

I thought there are usually some sort of barriers to keep people from plunging into the water going over a bridge. I am glad they are o'kay.
