BAY COUNTY-- Deer Point Lake residents are still having problems with the flood waters from last week's heavy rains.

We had reported the dam's drawdown gates were opened only 25-percent the day of the heaviest rainfall. But, Bay County officials today clarified that was not the case.

Bay County says the gates were fully open, one-hundred percent, Monday morning at 7:20 am-- a day before the rain started.

But, the drawdown isn't made for flood control, even though some people have complained that the county wasn't doing enough.

County Commissioner Guy Tunnell says they did everything they could. He says the only other recourse would be to improve the existing dam operations, which could be quite costly.
