Escaped Inmate Jeremy Foxworth Captured

Jeremy Foxworth, who escaped earlier this week from the Graceville work camp, was captured Thursday evening.

The Florida Department of Corrections reported that Foxworth was caught by DOC canine units just before 5 p.m. in a wooded area north of Graceville. Authorities said he gave up without incident.

Foxworth walked away from an outside work detail on Tuesday. He was due to be released in 2013 but now will face escape charges and additional time in prison.

The DOC came under criticism from Graceville residents who said Foxworth's extensive record should have kept him behind bars and not working under minimum supervision.

Foxworth was serving more than eight years for crimes ranging from battery with a deadly weapon to burglary and grand theft.

I live in the Holmes Creek area, and I wanted a chance to thank the individuals involved in law enforcement that have worked this area for the last few days. You have been a tireless presence, and as a citizen of this area, I am truly thankful for your hard work in keeping this area safe for us all!

He must be dumb. He only had 2 more years before he was a free man.And he may have been able to get out sooner for good behavior. He must like being under lock and key. I guess he'll get 25 years for escape now.Spending all his good years locked up with a bunch of men.No wife, No kids, No job to show for all your life. Whole life wasted. what a shame.
