Former Fire Chief Accused of Stealing Money from Department

A former Chief of the West End volunteer fire department is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the department.

Monday the state set former Fire Chief Eduardo Pardo’s next pretrial hearing for next month, so prosecutors can gather more evidence. Bay County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Pardo for allegedly stealing from the fire department’s account. They say, beginning in 2007, Pardo used the money to repair his car and even take a vacation.

The west end volunteer fire department will cease to exist next month, when the new county operated west end fire station opens.
