Drivers bracing for more pain at the pump as gas prices continue to rise, up 7 cents from a week ago to $3.75 a gallon on average.

Since last month gas prices across Florida has risen about 23 cents. Average prices for regular gas are teetering at $4 a gallon in the northeast and above $4 in California, Alaska and Hawaii. Gas prices have been rising on the back of soaring oil prices, which have surged 10% over the past month. Tension in the Middle East over Iran’s nuclear program has played a role in the rising gas prices.

According to AAA, drivers should not expect any relief at the pump anytime soon, as gas prices are expected to increase into the spring and summer months.
