Callaway -- A handful of Callaway residents want Bay County Commissioners to allow golf carts on county roads.

Some Callaway residents want to be able to drive the golf carts on county roads ‘legally’ without worry about penalties.

Bay County Commissioner, Guy Tunnel, motioned to allow the use of golf carts in Callaway. The motion passed by an unanimous vote.
Tunnel feels he’s simply giving the people what they want.
“After we researched it, and had something we can work with, we discussed it publicly and gave the public an opportunity to address it so I think it’s a good thing” said Guy Tunnel, Bay County Commissioner.

Some Callaway residents say they use their golf carts to get around and do things such as pick up trash alongside the road.
