The National Transportation Safety Board wants truckers to ‘Hang up and drive’!
The NTSB says anyone with a commercial driver’s license including box trucks and 18-wheelers, should not be allowed to use handheld or hands-free cell phones. This comes after the board says a truck driver, distracted by his cell-phone, crashed and killed himself and ten other people in Kentucky last year.
Truckers driving through Marianna say they see other drivers still operating their mobile devices and abhor the government’s regulations.
Currently, there is no law prohibiting truckers from using cell phones.
