The CRA project ongoing along parts of Thomas Drive and Front Beach Road involves burying utility lines underground.
Panama City Beach negotiated with Gulf Power on the project. The project began on Thomas Drive and will extend down Front Beach Road. It includes repaving the roadway and sidewalks as well as placing utility lines in the ground. Construction is on schedule; however, the project has run into some roadblocks along the way says Panama City Beach Mayor.
“They’ve had scheduling problems and the utilities, Gulf Power, Knology, Comcast all of those people have to coordinate to bury the utilities before they can put in the highway itself and the sidewalk” said Mayor Gayle Oberst, Panama City Beach.
The project is expected to save the city about one million dollars.
