Panama City could lose dozens of postal workers.
The United States Postal Service is looking into combining the Panama City Processing and distribution facility at the Shermann Avenue office with an office in Pensacola. They won’t make any decisions until the beginning of next year, but if the two offices combine, it would cut 30 to 60 jobs and mail could take two days longer to be delivered.
If the USPS goes forward with the move, it will hold a public meeting first and gain feedback from the public.
