3 Injured in Crash with Lee County Sheriff's Cruiser

ESTERO, Fla. (AP) -- Three people have been treated for minor injuries they sustained in a crash involving a Lee County Sheriff's cruiser with a prisoner in the back seat.
A Florida Highway Patrol report says 49-year-old Ariel Lusco was charged with failure to yield the right of way..
The report says Lusco drove across the southbound and northbound lanes of U.S. 41 in Estero on Thursday night, but failed to see the approaching cruiser. Deputy Christopher Meyer saw the car but didn't have enough time to avoid the crash. FHP says the side of the cruiser was struck.
The FHP report says Luis Moreno was unrestrained in the back of the cruiser. He was being transported to the Lee County Jail after his arrest on a domestic violence charge.
