Mobile police have charged a man with stealing money from a church office.

Authorities said a tip led to the arrest of 58-year-old David Estill Goldy. Goldy is accused of snatching $300 from a pastor's office at Christ United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 19. Police said the cash was stolen while the congregation conducted its morning service.

Officials also believe Goldy may have stolen money from another church in mid-August.

He was charged Tuesday with two counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property.

Goldy was placed in Mobile County Metro Jail on $7,500 bond.
