MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Lower oil prices continue to drive down the cost of gasoline.
AAA Alabama reports the statewide average for regular fuel fell another two cents overnight to $2.05 a gallon. In some areas of the state, regular has tumbled below the $2 mark.
The national average for regular is $2.08.
Midgrade averages $2.14 and premium is $2.20 a gallon, on average. A year ago, Alabamians were paying $3.01 a gallon, on average. Regular is cheapest in Montgomery at $1.97. The highest metro average was found in Birmingham at $2.10 a gallon.
