SEAGROVE BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Florida's Republican state representatives will begin a three-day retreat at an upscale Panhandle resort.
House members are meeting Wednesday through Friday at the WaterColor Inn in SeaGrove, about 20 miles west of Destin, the hometown of new House Speaker Ray Sansom.
Sansom will brief the group on the state's troubled financial outlook. He has estimated the state's budget deficit could grow to as much as $2 billion as the national economic crisis deepens.
Republicans hold a majority in both chambers of the Florida Legislature.
