Suspect in carjacking spree in Mobile surrenders

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Police say a man accused of carjacking drivers in Mobile using an AK-47 assault rifle has surrendered following an intense manhunt.

Police say 19-year-old Rodney Alexander surrendered Tuesday night.

A search continues for an alleged accomplice, 25-year-old Anthony Robinson.

For the past two days, police SWAT teams and special units looking for the pair searched homes and followed leads in both Mobile and Prichard.

The carjacking spree began Nov. 26 and included at least three victims. No one was injured and police recovered all three vehicles.
