Ala. Air Guard unit gets new headquarters

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- An Alabama Air National Guard Unit has a new headquarters building.

The $10 million facility at Montgomery's Dannelly Field will house members of the 187th Fighter Wing. The 46-thousand-square-foot building was dedicated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.

The 187th has approximately 300 personnel and 20 F-16 fighter jets. Next year, the unit will get additional personnel and aircraft under a plan mandated by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission.
