Mobile police offers 5,000 reward in 2007 murder

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- The Mobile Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward for information that could help officers solve a homicide in the city.

Police said DeMarcus Bettis was shot to death on May 25, 2007. A second victim, William Worthy, was also shot and survived his injuries. The shootings occurred at the corners of Michigan Ave. and Melrose St.

The reward money was donated by a foundation. Police urge anyone with information about the shootings to call Crime Stoppers at 251-208-7000.
