Pot bust lands Oconee Co. man in trouble

WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A 35-year-old Oconee County man is in custody after officers dismantled an indoor marijuana growing operation at his home.

The drug bust occurred Wednesday near Farmington.
Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry said Sven Froemke was detained Tuesday night after a Georgia state trooper found a sizable quantity of marijuana in his vehicle.

Officers assigned to the Northeast Georgia Drug Task Force searched Froemke's house and seized 88 marijuana plants and 5 pounds of harvested pot.

Froemke was charged with trafficking marijuana and manufacturing marijuana.

The pot, according to police, was worth an estimated $500,000 on the streets.
