Police say thieves broke into the house of Atlanta City Council President Lisa Borders and stole a flat-screen television and other electronic equipment.
Borders was not at her southwest Atlanta home when it was burglarized Monday. She said two of her neighbors' homes were burglarized the next day.
Police said Thursday that investigators haven't found out who broke into Borders' home.
Police department figures show property crime in Atlanta increased by 15 percent between 2005 and 2007. Police records also show that residential burglaries between January and October of 2008 were up 21 percent over the same time the previous year.
