The inaugural poet, Elizabeth Alexander, is scheduled to appear at Emory University next month.
Alexander will hold a public reading and book signing Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in Glenn Memorial Auditorium on the Atlanta college campus. It will be her first public appearance since she read "Praise Song for the Day" following the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama.
Her books include a version of the inaugural poem.
Alexander is a professor at Yale University. She is only the fourth inaugural poet, following Robert Frost, Maya Angelou and Miller Williams.
