Ga. man arrested for assaulting 2 boys with hammer

Authorities say a 50-year-old Brunswick man has been arrested for attacking two boys with a hammer, golf club and metal pipe, sending one child to the hospital.

Darryl Barnamon is in the Glynn County jail on charges of cruelty to children, aggravated battery and assault and possession of a weapon in a school zone following the Feb. 11 incident.

Eight-year-old Johnny Bradley Jr. and 9-year-old Jerry de Jesus Sandoval told police that Barnamon called them over to his house as they sat on a neighbor's porch and began hitting them.

The sheriff's officie said itg did not know if Barnamon had an attorney.

Jerry spent three days in the hospital with a fractured skull, broken finger, broken wrist, bruised legs and cuts to his head, face and arms. Johnny escaped with minor injuries.
