4 Dead in Head-on Crash Near Lake City

LAKE CITY, Fla. (AP) -- Four people are dead following a head-on crash east of Lake City.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened on U.S. 90 in Baker County on Wednesday.
The Gainesville Sun reports that 36-year-old Jose David Mendez-Pineda was heading west when his Camry crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a sports utility vehicle driven by 55-year-old Vivian Leland. The SUV overturned, landed on its roof and caught fire.
Menedez-Pineda and passenger 31-year-old Maria Angela Gomez Perez died in the crash along with two passengers in the SUV -- 68-year-old Eloise Davis Foster and 85-year-old Ceda May Prester.
Leland was taken to a Gainesville hospital.
