Lucien Freud paints wine label for French chateau

New artwork by Lucien Freud is on display at a Miami Beach museum, but the small painting isn't the star of the exhibition.

When the Freud was unveiled at a South Beach design museum last week, many people had their eyes on their glasses of deep red wine.

Freud's playful image of a zebra head and a palm tree is the latest artwork to adorn the labels on bottles of Mouton Rothschild.

The celebrated French winery Chateau Mouton Rothschild has commissioned an artist to create a label for each new vintage since 1945. Artists such as Andy Warhol, Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali have contributed paintings for the labels.

A selection of the labels and the original artworks are on display at The Wolfsonian-Florida International University through March 8.
