School administrator facing suspension over dance

A Clayton County disciplinary panel is recommending that a high school assistant principal be suspended for three days over a controversial performance by the school's dance team.

The committee recommended Tuesday that Sandra Nicholson be disciplined for approving a dance routine performed at a Jan. 13 Jonesboro High School basketball game, which parents complained was lewd and inappropriate. Videos of the routine ended up on YouTube and MySpace.

Nicholson's attorney, Keith Martin, says his client is satisfied with the committee's recommendation. Nicholson had been suspended for five days but appealed.

The Clayton County school board will vote within 30 days on how to discipline the assistant principal.
