An Albany man police labeled a suspected serial rapist has been taken into custody.
An Albany police SWAT team and Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents raided the home of 27-year-old Phillip Benjamin Conner on Wednesday.
Conner, according to authorities, was charged in at least three recent kidnapping and sexual assaults on women in Albany.
Investigators alleged Conner posed as an undercover narcotics officer while committing the crimes. He was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and sexual battery.
Police said additional charges are pending.
