A DeKalb County man accused of punching a Henager Junior High School principal faces a second-degree assault charge. The incident occurred Wednesday at the school.

According to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, Joseph Wayne Kittle, Sr., of Henager got into a dispute with principal Steve Green about his child's grade and an academic award.

The sheriff said the argument led Kittle to hit Green in the jaw. A school resource officer took him into custody. Kittle was placed in the county lockup where he awaits a bond hearing.
