Restaurants in Alabama are going to have to start disclosing the country of origin of their catfish and seafood.
Gov. Bob Riley said Thursday he has signed catfish and seafood labeling bills passed by the Legislature. Riley says people want to know where their food comes from.
The new laws allow the country of origin to be on the menu or a sign. The catfish labeling law takes effect Aug. 1 and the seafood law Jan. 1.
