GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- The state is offering special lodging deals to promote hunting at Alabama's wildlife management areas.
Selected Alabama state parks have a "Hunter's Special" now through February for people who hunt in the management areas.
The $49.95-a-night room deals are being offered at five state parks: Guntersville in north Alabama; Cheaha near Anniston; Joe Wheeler near Decatur; Lakepoint Resort at Eufaula and DeSoto, located in northeast Alabama.
Discounted rates are also being offered for campers at Florala and Wind Creek state parks.
Guests have to show their hunting license and a permit to hunt in a wildlife management area to get the discount.
