BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) -- A Baldwin County man has received a life sentence for operating a methamphetamine lab in a closet of his mobile home.
Assistant District Attorney Brett Anderson said 53-year-old Fredrick Lee Brown received the sentence. His conviction stemmed from sheriff's deputies smelling chemicals emanating from the open back door of his mobile home. Brown confessed to being a "meth cook" and having two others supply him with one of the essential ingredients, pseudoephedrine.
District Attorney Hallie Dixon said the long sentence should send a strong message about the consequences of meth addiction.
