Buckhead Fire

ATLANTA (AP) -- An early morning fire heavily damaged a four-story apartment complex in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood and forced an emergency evacuation, sending one resident to the hospital.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the fire started at 7:18 a.m. at The Metropolitan at Buckhead complex. About 35 units were involved. A spokeswoman for the Atlanta Fire Department, Janet Ward, told the AJC it's believed many units will be a total loss.
The blaze shut down Lenox Road from Lenox Square Mall to Canter Road.
Firefighters were able to get everyone out of the building safely, although Ward said some had to be rescued by ladder. There were also pets rescued.
