ELBA, Ala. (AP) -- Police in Elba are continuing to investigate a burglary and vandalism at the high school, which led to school being called off for a day.
The Dothan Eagle reports that the burglary was discovered early Tuesday morning.
Elba Police Lt. Robert La Voie said officers discovered a "significant" amount of vandalism inside the school.
La Voie said the acts of vandalism at the school included the discharging of fire extinguishers and the discharge of condiments of like ketchup and mustard. He said they also found some minimal flooding to a hallway and chemistry room, which apparently came from a decontamination shower.
Police said extensive cleanup efforts would be required.
