Crews Try to Save Man Trapped in Drainage Ditch

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- Fire Rescue officials say crews are trying to free a construction worker who became trapped in waist-deep dirt while working on storm drain project in Clearwater.
Rescue crews began building a box around the man Tuesday morning to prevent more dirt from falling onto him. They planned to use a vacuum to remove the dirt from around him.
The Pinellas County Technical Rescue Team provided oxygen to the man because he is trapped partially underground.
There was no word on how the worker became trapped.
