BAY COUNTY-- In light of recent heavy rains, and more rain in the forecast, Bay County officials are keeping an eye on Deerpoint Lake.
County officials have opened the drawdown gates and will leave them open in anticipation of more rain, which could cause the lake level to rise.
They opened the gates at 5:00 Monday morning, before that storm front dropped inches of rain, north of the Econfina Watershed.
The lake has now level reached four and a half feet,a foot below normal.
County officials will return to normal drawdown practices once the weather threat has passed.
