Deputies Semmes Man They Say Shot at Teens

SEMMES, Ala. (AP) -- Mobile County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Semmes public works supervisor they say shot a car with five teenagers inside.
The Press-Register reports that 39-year-old Mark Raiford was arrested Monday. He faces a felony charge of discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle.
None of the teens were injured in the shooting.
Sheriff's department spokeswoman Lori Myles says Raiford shot at the vehicle after he caught the teens toilet papering his house.
Authorities say Raiford fired at the car and then called the sheriff's office before chasing the teens to a nearby gas station. Authorities say Raiford held them hostage at gunpoint until deputies arrived a few minutes later.
Raiford is set to appear in court Oct. 10. It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.
