ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- An Orange County Sheriff's deputy fatally shot a 54-year-old who was threatening to kill his wife.
The woman called 911 for help Sunday evening. When deputies arrived, they say Eric W. Dunphy grabbed his wife and pulled her inside their mobile home.
Orlando television stations reports Dunphy put his wife in a headlock and threatened to kill her. The deputy then shot and killed Dunphy.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Ginett Rodriguez says the deputy repeatedly told the man to let his wife go.
Rodriguez says deputies have been to the home before for domestic disputes between the couple.
The deputy has been placed on administrative leave.
