Fuel Tanker Overturns on I-4, Closing Lanes

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) -- The eastbound lanes of Florida's main east-west corridor have been shut down because a fuel tanker overturned.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a tanker truck lost control and crashed into a guardrail Wednesday morning on Interstate 4.
The truck was carrying 8,700 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel and officials say 1,100 gallons or more have leaked onto the road.
FHP says the driver received minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Eastbound lanes of I-4 are expected to be closed for hours. All eastbound traffic is being diverted onto Memorial Boulevard and motorists are encouraged to utilize the Polk Parkway (SR-570) or other roadways to avoid the area while Hazmat and clean-up crews continue to work to clear the roadway.
