HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- A Madison County jury has indicted the parents of a 16-year-old boy charged in a fatal shooting at his middle school.
A judge postponed Hammad Memon's trial last week to allow time for him to get a mental evaluation. The Huntsville Times reports his parents, Dr. Iqbal Memon and Safia Memon, were indicted in the May session of the grand jury for hindering prosecution.
The teenager's bond was revoked after he and his mother were arrested last month at a Texas bus station. Authorities suspected they were trying to flee the country ahead of the trial.
Memon was set to go on trial June 18 in the death of 14-year-old Todd Brown, who was fatally shot inside Discovery Middle School in Madison in 2010.
