NAPLES, Fla. (AP) -- A lightning strike may have been the cause of a fire that caused about $2 million in damages to a North Naples YMCA.
The Naples Daily News reports that the gym was just closing on Monday afternoon because of the holiday when an employee felt a jolt of lightning hit the building.
There are more than 6,000 members at the YMCA, which also houses a day care for 100 preschoolers.
The three-alarm fire burned for hours on Labor Day. No one was injured and officials say the building is a complete loss.
