MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- A judge has sentenced man to life in prison without parole in the fatal shooting a man during a robbery attempt at a midtown Mobile home.
The Press-Register reports that 21-year-old Michael Lee was sentenced Thursday in the shooting death of 23-year-old Kyser Miree in April 2010.
Prosecutors say Lee shot Miree at his home after barging inside with three accomplices, pointing three guns at him and demanding money. According to testimony, Miree fell to the ground and had three guns pointed at him as he begged for his life.
The prosecution asked Mobile County Circuit Judge John Lockett to order Lee to die by lethal injection.
Ernest Wiggins, Jamal Long and Bo Taylor were charged with capital murder. They are scheduled for a status hearing on Aug. 16.
